Singapore's population is increasingly greying but the pool of nurses and allied health professionals (AHP), unfortunately, wasn't growing as fast. Nursing among Singaporeans was perceived as a mundane job with little career prospects. AHPs, on the other hand, are generally unknown to the public. Attracting new recruits was going to take more than an appeal to the "calling" of the professions.
To change the perception of nursing, our idea is to show the unseen side of nursing — the enriching job experiences and opportunities for professional growth. To drive awareness of AHPs, we focused on the diversity of the profession and their roles. Once awareness increases and perceptions begin to change, nursing and allied health as viable professions become more enticing.
